Vehicle Description
This is a legendary 1975 Buick Century “Free Spirit.” (59th Annual Indy 500 Pace Car). It is optioned with the 350-4 Hi-Compression (“Red, white & blue”) engine, TH350 auto-transmission and a gas misering 2.56 posi rear-end. It has the Hurst Hatch T-top, GS Blackout Package (grille & taillights), HD handling suspension, p/s, p/b, a/c, white bucket seats, blue center console, doors, dashboard and carpeting. The tires are Goodyear Eagle GTII Radials mounted on white painted 15x7 mag wheels. This car actually took part in the Indy 500 after race festival. It came with two original 8-Track tapes -- one titled: BUICK Free Spirit, and the other titled: Buick Presents For 1975: the Sound Around You, a full set of decals (made for a 1:24 scale model car), some collectors’ books (showing and telling about the car) and an original post card from the race.
Vehicle Condition
I started restoring this car about a year ago; ...it has new paint & graphics, new Goodyear tires, the wheels were bead blasted and re-painted, the wheel-wells were rubberized, new shocks, new carpeting, the seats have just been re-upholstered (the back seat has never been sat in), new rubber weather seals around the doors, side windows & trunk. It has a new dash mat (but under it the dash has a crack in it). I have done nothing under the hood as the engine is very clean and runs excellent! There are no known mechanical problems, and as of this year -- in CA -- it‘s smog exempt!! There has never been any rust on this car; except for miner cosmetics under the hood this car looks and runs great, ...and it's fast and fun to drive too!! I have entered this car in two Classic Car Shows and have taken a 1st place plaque at both. This is a definite COLLECTOR CAR!!! A wise investment at $7,500, ...and I will also consider a partial trade for a ‘86 to late model Toyota (xtra-cab turbo) pickup.
